Our Mission:
"To serve and protect the lives and properties of the citizens of Gate City, VA and surrounding areas; to protect the environment from hazardous contaminants; and to secure the future through fire prevention classes for the youngest members of our community"
We are a 100% volunteer fire department made up of some of the finest members of our community.
Gate City has had a fire service since 1901. The Gate City Fire Department was officially formed in 1948. Our current station was erected in 1978 and is dedicated to Bobby Bishop who was a member from 1973 to 1990. We are located on Bishop St. behind the Campus Drive-In.
